High Resolution Film Scanning – Nitrate Safe Room

StudioPost has recently completed the construction of our nitrate safe high resolution film scanning room.  We are proud to offer the only ARRI Wet-Gate Tower available in the United States.

The Nitrate Safe room is complete with ARRI Scanner capable of 35MM up to 6K resolution, 16MM up to 4K resolution and 35MM wet-gate options.  Additional offerings include 35MM/16MM pin and pin-less gates, 35MM pin-less wide aperture archive gates and sprocketless drive for damaged film or perforations.  A software stabilization option is available while scanning along with Kodak DICE in-gate dust and scratch removal.

Also available is the Northlight 2 35MM film scanner.  The Northlight 2 is capable of scanning Vista Vision 8-perf film and is optioned with Infra-Red channel capabilities.

For fully restored projects we offer ARRI laser recording to create YCM/RGB archive separation masters, scanning and digital recombining of separation masters and side by side screening comparisons.
