The Universal Studios Lot is conveniently located i across the street from the Metro's Universal City/Studio City station, offering easy access to the Red Line and multiple bus routes. Plan your trip using Metro.net.

Access to the Lot
  • Pedestrians: Pedestrian entry is accessible via Gate 3
  • Bicyclists: Cyclists can enter through their assigned gate, and bike racks are available throughout the property for secure parking. 
Transportation Options

NBCUniversal offers a variety of commuting options through the NBCUCommutes program, making your trip to the Lot easier and more sustainable:

  • MetroLink and Metro Passes: Sold online only at metrolinktrains.com and metro.net

  • Vanpool/Carpool: Join or create a vanpool or carpool with fellow employees and enjoy the benefits of reduced commuting costs and parking privileges.

  • Bike to Work: Enjoy cycling to the Lot with bike racks located throughout the Lot for convenience.

  • NBCUCommutes: NBCUniversal offers subsidies and benefits to employees and people working on the Lot to encourage public transit usage. For more details on these transportation options visit the NBCUCommutes Portal if you are an employee or email admin@nbcucommutes.com.

Driving on the Lot

Driving on the Lot


For the safety of all clients, employees and guests, Universal Studios Lot has a drive-on procedure that must be adhered to by all persons driving onto and throughout the property:

  • Park in assigned parking space ONLY
  • Obey all posted traffic signs (Stop, One-Way, No Parking, Handicap, painted red curbs/fire zones, etc.)
  • Maximum speed limit while driving on the lot is 10 MPH
  • Yield the "Right of Way" to Universal Studios Hollywood trams and pedestrians at all times (Note: The fourth car of tram swings wide)
  • Please bring your vehicle to an immediate stop when approaching a red flashing light or flag guard signaling that filming is in progress. Proceed only when the red light is off or the flag guard waves you on.
  • Golf carts may only be operated by persons with a valid state issued driver's license

To report an incident (minor traffic accident, theft, suspicious person, etc.) while on the Universal Studios Lot please contact Security Operations Center at (818) 777-2445. We are staffed 24 hrs. a day.

EV Charging


The Universal Studios Lot offers 240-V Level 2 charging stations for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. The charging dock stations are part of the ChargePoint network and users must register for a ChargePoint card at Chargepoint.com. The stations can also be activated by calling the ChargePoint customer service department at (888) 758-4389.

The fee to charge on the Lot is $0.30 per kWh. After four hours of charging, a $2.00 per hour fee will be applied.

Below is a list of the charging locations on the Lot. Download the ChargePoint mobile app to view current availability. The charging spaces are not parking spots and users must move their vehicle once it has completed charging.

  • Building 2160 Level 3 (12 charging spaces)
  • Building 2128 Level 3 (12 charging spaces)
  • Building 1320 Level 1 (4 charging spaces)
  • Building 1360 Level 1 (12 charging spaces)
  • Building 4250 Street Level (8 charging spaces)
  • Building 6128/7120 Street Level (8 charging spaces)
  • Building 9128 Ground Level (2 charging spaces)
  • Building 1440/10UCP (20 charging spaces) - for 10UCP employees only
  • Additionally, temporary Level 2 chargers can be installed in some assigned parking spots for a monthly fee. Contact your Office Services representative for leasing information.

Ride Sharing


UBER / LYFT

  • Employees can use Gate 3 for Lyft & Uber pickups/drop-offs
  • Pickups and drop-offs are at the Gate 3 Arrival Commons
  • Please search Universal Studios Gate 3 in the Lyft & Uber apps
  • For your safety, please see Lyft's and Uber's pages for the most up-to-date guidelines
  • Food delivery via Uber Eats, Grubhub, etc. must drop off at designated locations at Gate 3. Please visit the dining page for more info

Visitor Passes

Visitor Passes

All visitors are required to have a daily access pass issued in order to enter the Universal Studios Lot. Please contact the person or department you are visiting to coordinate.

  • All persons entering the Lot are required to show a valid state issued ID
  • The name on your ID must match your access pass
  • Walk-on access is permitted via GATE 3 or GATE 8 only
  • Ride share drop off/pick up is permitted at GATE 3 or GATE 8 only; name of your driver is not required
