Studio Operations Service Center
The Studio Operations Service Center acts as a centralized point of contact for inquiries regarding the Lot and it's services, as well as maintenance and workspace-related requests. The Service Center offers support for to employees, productions and guests visiting the Universal Studios Lot, 10 UCP, and the DreamWorks Animation campus.
Anyone may contact the Service Center directly for questions or assistance. Employees or people working on the Lot may submit requests by phone, email, online portal or mobile app.

Production Requirements
To ensure a safe and successful filming experience, we require all productions to carry adequate insurance coverage. This includes general liability insurance, workers' compensation insurance, and property damage insurance. Specific requirements may vary depending on the nature of the production and the types of activities involved.

Stock Footage Library
The Universal Studios Stock Footage Library offers one of the most impressive clip collections in the world, with 5,000 categories of high quality footage. We meticulously catalogue available scenes from every Universal Pictures film. The clips are then made accessible online for quick search and easy licensing. The catalogue includes recently released and library feature films as well as our classic television collection.

Sustainability
Our commitment to help protect our planet stems from a deep desire to take care of the communities where we live, work, and create. NBCUniversal has a goal to be carbon neutral by 2035 for Scope 1 and 2 emissions. Our efforts are focused on bringing an environmental perspective to everything we do, from inspiring our audiences, to driving more sustainable practices into our own operations, including here on the Universal Studios Lot.
The Universal Studio Lot is designated as a LEED Campus from the US Green Building Council due to sustainability attributes such as water efficiency, EV chargers, and open space with walking paths. In addition, Universal Studio Lot has four LEED-Certified buildings across the campus, including the Barham Stages which are LEED Gold certified.
Other sustainability attributes include a total of almost 2 MW of on-site solar, producing enough electricity to power over 240 homes a year.
In an effort to reduce water use, the Studio Lot uses recycled water and drip irrigation to water drought-tolerant plants across the lot. The retention pond on the lot is used to capture urban runoff and treat storm water, and the water can be reused for irrigation on The Lot.
The Universal Studios Lot is located directly across the street formfrom the Metro's Universal City/Studio City station, servicing the Red Line rail and numerous bus lines. To plan your next trip, visit metro.net
Pedestrian visitors to our Lot s may enter through Gates 3 or 8. Pedestrian employees may enter through Gates 3, 5, 6, or 8. Gate 5 is the closest to the metro station and for ride share and drop offs, please use Gate 3.
Bicyclists may enter the Lot through their assigned gate. Bike racks are located throughout the property.
The Universal Studios Lot has a number of EV charging stations available throughout various buildings around the Studio Lot. For more information on the location of the stations, how to use, cost, etc. please visit the Driving on the Lot section on the "Getting Here" page for details.
NBCUniversal is focused on providing the latest in cutting edge lighting and clean technology through Universal Production Services. Our CINEO Lighting brand is the professional's choice for achieving beautiful results with a fraction of the power and heat associated with conventional set lighting. The Reflex and LightBlade products can cut energy use by up to 70% and will reduce your cooling needs.
Universal Production Services also offers other clean tech options and vehicles, like battery storage units, solar golf carts, and more to help meet your production's sustainability needs. Our Fleet offering includes:
- Battery storage units
- Solar-powered electric golf carts
- Mobile chargers for rent
- Newer trucks are certified low-emission diesel engines with auto 5-min. idle shutdown
- Older trucks have been retrofitted with diesel particulate filters
- Hybrid 5-ton trucks use 40% less fuel and spend 87% less time idling
- On-Lot bicycle program promotes physical activity and reduces golf cart congestion

Universal Studios has partnered with Rock and Wrap It Up! and the Hollywood Food Coalition to recover excess food from productions and events on the Lot. Refrigerators are placed throughout the property to make donations as easy as possible. NBCUniversal created a simple, easy to use visual guide which illustrates sustainable best practices for TV and film production inspiring our productions to strive to be as sustainable as possible on stage, on location, and in the production office.

NBCUniversal is committed to responsibly managing materials and encouraging circularity through recycling initiatives, reuse programs, and collaborations with suppliers. On the Universal Lot, waste is separated into three streams by using color-coded bins and liners: blue for recycling, green for compost and black for landfill. When working on stage, contact your production representative to request a 40-yard roll off dumpster to recycle wood and construction waste. Water refill stations are available to use in lieu of single-use plastic water bottles.
